I have seen the template and queries posted by you. Template looks gud with its home page... but i think rest of the pages we can only see once we buy the template. Pls advise if there is some other way to see the template. We are ready with the code and I think you have also tested the current functionality. Dev Update on Homepage

Dev Team,

Please find these changes as required at earliest...

1. Panel:- (1) Increase the width to 25% and increase the height by giving little more space. (2) Relocate location to the top and rename it to City. (3) Introduce a radio button option, "Are you a resident of India?" And save this option in the db also.

2. Please find the attached file for the modification of homepage.

3. Change the blue color to Orange shade (#FF6600 ). Please use only CSS file for color schemes.

4. We have selected some graphic designers for the logo design in jalandhar. Soon we will pass the images to you.

Please reply to blogs whenever u deploy any changes. It is imperative to know other players also.

Dear All,
I am concerned for the developement. I did not see anything coming up even after the deadline date 23rd Feb has passed. ...and you have not even taken note of that.
I beleive..like this we wont be able to finish this task even after one year. Even the blog page is update after too many requests.
I have asked few designers for the logo design. i will update you if it works. ...n I also wait for the updates.

Wonderful to hear that the domain has been registered.Please pass on the details of the domain to us and the related logins for it.

Also, we are working very hard to fix minor minor issues, which are taking up lots of time. The funny part being we have solved major functional issues with ease and some simple bugs solving eats up much more time than that.

Anyways..

Just wait till next post tommorow morning for the stable version of the site.

Regarding the major things going on: Just one thing I am adding due to time constraints, we havnt as yet gone for Hot Deals thing on the home page, instead added as a Side bar for hottest deals, as for hot deals, we need a new admin page to enter hot deals, then a new table in db and a new jsp page and then would need to fix bugs on that.Will do this task after stablising other pending bugs ( Functional and technical)

I was bit confused over the name selection as I had laid most stress on this issue. I was not sure whether, we would carry this name..until one of my school friend came to my rescue. he said" whats in the name.... Rose will smell as sweet, may you call it by any name."

We have taken your suggestions and found a list of 23 issues that we are on track to fix. Sorry for not replying to your earlier post. Have fixed around 10 of them.Will fix the remaining 13 also shortly.

Also I am not clear about the Airline ( Flight search?) link that you want. You want the search for air line functionality also or just want the links to Air lines websites to search? Please clarify.

please copy the same calender as used by www.yatra.com.. it opens very quick and from click anywhere in the date column.
We can copy many things from other travel sites.

Homepage Review , Phase III

Dev Team,

Please follow the below spec for further changes. These changes is the collaborative work from myself and Guddu. Please find the attached file for the layout used for the homepage content. Also traverse through some sites like lastminute.com, travelocity.com for more information and ideas on developing the code. Also complete the previous spec before starting this one and let us know about the update.

1. From the file, the top portion contains the structure for the body of the homepage. It should be 3x3 Data grid or data list for Hot Deals!! The image size is around 120x83 PX and brief text information is given in right to the image. Also specify the more... link in the end of the text for a hyper link. The structure details are in the enclosed image.

2. Search Panel:- Please follow www.travelocity.com for the search panel structure. Use the table format to contain the panel search. The Footer blue color looks very good and should be used as a background color for this panel and use white color for the font.

3. Please change the body background color of the homepage to white from Grey.

4. Please remove the green button from the search panel. And use "Search Now" as a text for the button and use blue shade for the button with white text.

5. After fitting the Hot deals grid, leave some considerable blank space on the right side for the future use.

6. Search Panel:- Take off the Class dropdownlist from the panel.

7. Complete the Menu design work just just like the footer.

We have reserved the domain nam royaltravels.org as .com was not available. I wish to have the holidays site and the name should be like that only and moreover in .com only.
I would be glad, if you contribute something new and more appealing.

1. The green color theme changing is bit messy business as of now..But still done changes, the search buttons green color would be changed shortly.

Now, Guddu/Karan... I still want things to fill up the home page. It looks a lot empty.Please advise how do you plan to fill it up.

Web Site name

HI Team,

I want you all to contribute your suggestions for choosing the name of thewebsite. I had a session with Karan about this and we concluded few names...like
www.expressholidayz.com, www.bookpackgo.com, www.desirableindia.com, etc..etc..etc..

We would appericiate if you have any ideas about this as it really takes a lot of time for deciding the name, slogan and logo.
As you all must be aware, it would be a hotel booking site in the first phase and later a complete holidays site.

I did not have anything about the suggestions as I could not see any changes in the present site. I hope we will complete it in stipulated time.

Check in Date

In the sech panel, check in date should always be lower than the check out date. Its should not accept otherwise..

Karan, hey regarding the green theme: It would be a lot more effort to change the green theme now as it could have been if this was told earlier, but anyways we will do it.

Guddu, we have currently fixed the resolution to 1024*768 as told by Karan.
Do you want the vertical expanse of the page also reduced ? Horizontal expanse it fitting the browser in the mentioned resolution in both IE and firefox.

and regarding MAP thing for a zone or region... We already have this feature we can associate an image / or a MAP with each zone or region or state.

Rest of the mentioned points are fine with us and we will put it our efforts to take into account your feedback.

Window Size

HI guys,

1. Can this window fit into my pc screen? The page size should not be more than the actual size of the screen.
2. Can we have a map which gets displayed after user is searching for hotels in a particular city. and then we have an additional button for more information about the historical facts and findings about that place.

Homepage Review , Phase II

Thanks for the changes i requested. Please go through the list of new features we like to amend in the site.

1. Menu:- The green color scheme for the menu doesn't have corporate look and is not even smooth with the rest of the page. We need a simple menu, nothing complex,even without a javascript. So please use these two shades for a new look. First is f27d12 (Orange shade) and second is 004183 (Dark blue shade). Please discourage the use of Green color at all. Replicate the menu structure & design from www.yatra.com

Deadline for Initial release

To Gaurav,

After having a discussion with Guddu on the development work, we reached to the conclusion that we need to see the system working by 23 FEB. This would be the beta release of the system. Delays or excuses would not be taken into consideration.

After this we will test the system for 10 days and then later it will be launched on a new domain. Second phase of development will go side by side. This is very crucial for our business , as after this guddu has to do plenty of work like Domain Registration, Company Registration, Payment gateway and preparing graphic printing material on the site.
Should u require more info, give us a shout.

As per your suggested changes, I will proceed point by point and give our take on the things as they stand now!

Point 1: Horizontal Scrollbar

Rectified. By adjustments to our header regions.
*Development time was mostly spent with firefox, where this scroll didnt used to come..so the glitch

Point 2: TOPMARGIN=0
Done! set topmargin and other required margins for all the pages.

Point 3: Image banner/Logo
Regarding the logo, I guess you already will be having some logo to be used in all your communications. We wait for you to update us with your logo.
Still, we have shown another option on the site: have a look :)

Point 4: Font
Yes, font adjustments and things like this wont require much time once the functionality and other things get to top working condition.
Still done a few we could notice.

Point 5: Javascript calendar popup:

Rectified it, as per your requirements.

Point 6: Green buttons, done a bit of change just to make them look equal for the time being, feel free to give some good suggestion on it.

Point 7: Taken it off :) : Need some suggestion again on this as that was just a sample....provide inputs as what you want to be filled there

Point 8: Done a bit of manipulations, filled some data in db.

Home Page Review (Urgent)

For Dev team, Feedback/Corrections Required urgent.
Most of the issues i reported in the last email has not been rectified, so i'm noting the points down again.

1. First download the desktop Sizer tool from the internet. Optimize the website size for 1024x768 px screen. I can still see the horizontal scrollbar.

2. In the body Tag, overwrite the TopMargin attribute to zero.

3. The img banner on the top is ok but not good enough for a travel website..Try to replace it with a sharp and bright img. And try to blend in the manner so one cannot find the gaps within the img.

4. The font used in the menu looks good, use the same font pattern for the text, Booking search panel and other panels.

5. Booking Search Panel:- The calendar popup javascript open on the top left corner in the webpage. Change the coordinates next to the popup image icon, so when a user clicks the icon it opens next to it rather than on the top.

6. The green buttons doesn't appeal to me such as Get Hotels , Get Informations etc.. The size must be little smaller to make it look elegant. And replace the green shade with the orange, as orange has more grace than green. I already gave you the RGB format of the particular Orange shade ages ago. chk in your emails.

7. Take off the india map from the website, it doesn't look nice...The website looks really desi with this img.

8. And organise the Hotel Grid properly on the right side, the main portion of the homepage. Populate the correct testing data into the db, so we can atleast view the homepage in complete.

After rectifying all the above points, leave the feedback to the post and let everyone know about it. Still i can extend this list to 20 modifications more easily...but i want to see first how quickly you guys can finish this list.

Give me a shout if u require any suggestion.
